DUALNETS – Dual identifiers as bridges in social networks

SICCEN

Within the DUALNETS project, we designed and developed the Smartphone Interface for Collecting Complete and Ego-centered Networks (SICCEN), a visual software that enables the collection of ego-centered networks, complete networks, and cognitive social structures without interviewer assistance on smartphones. The aim of SICCEN is to measure social networks – which is a tedious and time-consuming process for participants – in a quick, fun, and simple manner.

SICCEN was designed in co-creation with game design students at Grafisch Lyceum Utrecht. The design was presented at a workshop on social networks in Mannheim in 2023 and demonstrated at the Sunbelt conference 2024 in Edinburgh.
